Hollywood Influence?

What are some of the great movies with historical content that we should add to the list on the right? To what extent do you think our views are shaped by the viewing of history based movies? Are the filmmakers distorting history with their versions? By watching them, are we manipulating our thoughts too much to one side of the issues and events? Explain.

the pacific is a great movie because it is about world war two in the marine point of view and how it was to live and fight on the beaches and in forests. it is made by the same people as band of brothers the only differents is its about the marines and not the 101 air born

Saving Private Ryan is a movie based on the lives of a few brave soldiers, who have to save Private Ryan. This movie gives an inside look of how the military was ran in WWII and what these soldiers had to deal with in a day to day basis. I believe most WWII moives are based on the American or ally forces, which is good in all, but they make the Germans seem like they are all bad, which is not always true. Not all Germans were mean and wanted to take over the world and we don't get to see this in these movies.

All those shows are good but, I thinnk Saving Private
Ryan should be on the list. It shows the invasion of Normandy. A small squad of 8 people have to travel through German infested territory, to save Private Ryan and send him home. It shows lots of WW2 history.

I think that The Iron Lady and The Queen should be on this list
