Regarding Comments

Students are asked to focus their comments on the ideas of their classmates. When commenting, please use your first name (and, if necessary, your last initial.) Comments should not attack in any way the student contributors in the room. Full recognition will be given to students who have and will make comments which are positive and exceed the minimal congratulatory phrases such as "its all good". Please continue to read and comment and, whenever submissions are appropriate, they will be posted promptly.  Ensure that your first name is attached to your comment (Do not post annonymously.)

Philosophers of the Enlightenment

Post your single-spaced philosopher papers in the student work section for your class.  Use you first name (last initial if needed) in the title along with the name of your philosopher.  If you do not have access to the page, ask someone with access to post for you.  If you send the teacher your gmail account, you can be added.

Today's assignment included two things.

1) Post your industrial revolution challenge response to the student work blog (or email to feeley.joanne@prairiesouth.ca).

2) Answer the two questions on p2 of your currents of thought booklet (you'll need to read the two paradigms on the following pages).

*students who wish to work ahead can begin answering the first twenty questions in their booklet starting on p5 - use chapter 6 section 1 to guide your answers....they are in order and essentially break down each paragraph or two.  Number 20 is the most important - do not try to skip it!

Both tasks are due for 9am on Thursday, December 15.

May 21 - After the test...

1) Complete the assignment on p.2 of your "Currents of thought" booklet.

- It will involve reading pages 3 and 4 and making a

decision.

- Justify your decision in writing.

2) Read text Chapter 6 and answer the questions which begin in your booklet on p.5

*Complete up to question 10 for Thursday.  We will continue with this content on Thursday and Friday.

In today's class, we finished the "Choose your Way" activity and completed the guided notes for section 4 up to page 27 in the worksheets.  We will review tomorrow.

May 9

Over the past few days, we have examined the events of the start of the Industrial Revolution.  Today, we started examining some of the negative impacts on workplace and living conditions.  Students are to have completed the guided notes in their work booklets up to the end of section 3 for May 12.
